Anna is a global business leader and C-suite turnaround specialist and started her established career in the consulting space with EY, IBM, and Vice President Mercer Consulting. Her most recent position was as CEO and Director General of the Institute of Directors. A senior Executive Director and Board Member, Anna has worked in both private and central government public sectors leading organisations and industries through complex and transformational changes.
As a key international influencer, Anna has worked with senior world leaders and has been a key advisor and Executive to Central Government in Transportation, Infrastructure, Security and Technology and has been at the forefront in the shaping of the UK Telecommunications and Consumer Energy industries for over 14 years. She led the Government of Jersey, Channel Islands as COO where she set the pace to turn around and modernise the government and worked to set the island’s digital agenda. Anna was Executive Director Strategy Highways England setting strategy, delivering transformation and working with government to create the 2050 Transport Vision; COO of the Office of Fair Trading and primary Board Advisor in a €4bn tech IPO merger, Sopra-Steria and Managing Director IBM Consulting Europe Middle East & Africa.
Her ability to deliver operational turnarounds, digital-first principals, and successfully and profitably deliver international corporate strategic direction, enables her to contribute to good governance with awareness and foresight. Seeing good governance, risk management and transformation effectively implemented sustainably is her mission for businesses and their people.
Over 30 years, Anna has extensively grown operations and transformed businesses across USA and Europe, Middle East and Africa in the Tech industry with revenues of up to £13bn. She has also started her own health business in Canary Wharf, London as a new startup that was later successfully merged and now is a board advisor for a disruptive startup in tech and logistics, Magway.
She is also a recently appointed Council member of the Rural Policy Group for agriculture and the environment. Outside of work, Anna enjoys the outdoors, walking, golf, sailing and scub-diving. She is a photographer, a qualified garden designer and loves travel.
